Warner Castle – Rochester, New York

Who would have thought a small city would have its own castle? Well to our surprise Rochester, New York is the home of Warner castle locates near downtown. This structure is used to host events, most popular are high school graduations in and around the property. Behind this lovely building is the much admired Sunken Garden which as installed in 1930.

Warner castle is actually constructed to resemble the ancestral castle of the Clan Douglas in Scotland admired by local attorney and businessman Horatio Gates Warner, the property’s namesake.

The site grounds is free to the public and is locate d highland park, home of the annual Lilac Festival!

In the mid-spring this is a popular place to visit during the area’s famed Lilac Festival.
