What You Will Do:
Gannett Fleming’s Construction Services Business Line in New York area is currently seeking
Construction Inspectors for a Wastewater Project in Nassau and Suffolk County. Projects consist of the construction of new and renovation or replacement of wastewater infrastructure including treatment facilities, pump stations, and collection systems including mechanical, electrical, plumbing and process controls and flood protection.
Responsibilities:
• Construction observation and/or inspection of construction activities
• Interface with the project team and task managers
• Attend project meetings
• Preform quality assurance and quality control functions to confirm contractor’s adherence to the contract documents
• Produce daily reports for active construction contracts
• Issue contract deficiency reports, including follow-up on required corrective actions
• Liaise between contractor, client staff, utility companies, local municipalities, and other external agencies
• Maintain a daily inspection diary documenting construction activity, including environmental events and recording of progress and as constructed details for the purposes of project closeout.
• Review the quality of Contractors work and provide report to client.
• Ensures contract compliance to technical plans and specifications; and reviews documentation and files for accuracy and completeness, including daily reports and construction logs.
Education | Experience:
Minimum Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Science, Construction Management, or equivalent is preferred
• Experience with water and sewer lines installation; pump station construction; water wastewater
• Plant construction is highly preferrable
• Must have the ability to interface with all levels of personnel and management
• Ability to thrive in a team environment
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
