The Opportunity
Joining our dynamic Scott Dunn USA team and Flight Centre Travel Group in an exciting period of growth, this opportunity will provide People & Culture business partnership for Scott Dunn’s West and East Coast based teams within a global people and culture team. Working in a stand-alone capacity for Scott Dunn USA, and acting as the point person for a growing US team of 40+ people, the role will support our business leaders on all people-related matters as we look to scale – including recruitment, retention, performance management, employee engagement, employee relations, compensation, training, and compliance. This is with the aim of ensuring we continue to attract, retain, and provide brightness of future for the continued growth and development of our people.
Responsibilities
• Partner and collaborate with managers and team members to maintain a positive and inclusive culture which is aligned with Scott Dunn’s core values and behaviors
• Partner with US leadership, and global people and culture teams on organizational changes, employee engagement and retention strategies
• Take the lead in resolving employee issues; coach managers to be accountable for their team’s engagement and team success
• Manage the quarterly performance cycle throughout the year with the US team
• Use data and trends from various sources to proactively create engagement strategies
• Partner with the Talent Acquisition team on all US recruitment activities, support hiring managers, and participate in the selection process as appropriate
• Liaise with the L&D team in to support the career growth of US team members
• Act as the Scott Dunn lead for US payroll and benefits, which will be transitioned to a centralized shared service team between September 2023- January 2024
• Propose and implement improvements to HR-related processes
• Stay updated on employment law and regulatory compliance changes impacting Scott Dunn’s team; implement actions where required
• Conduct data analysis and reporting to provide input for key decisions
• Participate in and lead ad hoc People team initiatives, including planning, execution and change management
About You
Driving the delivery of Scott Dunn USA’s people function through a period of exciting growth, you will be a pro-active, personable, and engaging individual that has evidenced the ability to support business leaders in a people-partnering capacity (Human Resource Business Partnering), ideally in a stand-alone or autonomous role. With at-least 4-years experience working across the full HRM lifecycle, you will also have demonstrable experience of HR best-practice, and a combination of both the expertise, ability, and passion to coach leaders on their roles in ensuring the attraction and retention of exceptional talent. Other attributes that will assist in your application include:
• Solid knowledge of employment legislation and US Labor Law, specifically California and New York
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to build successful relationships with managers and employees
• Experience using HR metrics to analyse data and make recommendations
• Management of HR projects end-to-end
• Ability to act as an ambassador for the Scott Dunn and Flight Centre Travel Group’s core values and brand to attract and retain talent
• Effective administration skills, ability to multi-task and work at pace
• University degree in a related field; SHRM qualification further desirable

Location
We aim to find someone who would be office based at our San Diego – Solana Beach office, or New York City – Bryant Park office for at least 3 days a week. There will be an induction / training period initially, where you may be required to attend the office daily.
