Job Overview

This role serves as a strategic business partner to our Business Development and Legal organizations. The Contracts Specialist will support the development and execution of contracts with new and existing customers ensuring Catalent has strong, profitable contracts with business terms that align with guidelines and represent a win-win for Catalent and our customers. This role requires an individual who understands and has significant experience in contracting and negotiating. Responsibilities include overseeing the preparation of contractual documents, negotiating and administering customer contracts in accordance with company policies and legal requirements, interacting with internal and external legal counsel in support of routine legal operations, maintaining an awareness of company business objectives and priorities and reflect those in customer business negotiations, analyzing and mitigating risk, maintaining accurate records.

Responsibilities
• Negotiate contracts in partnership with Business Development, Legal and other functional leads to achieve timely deal closure and growth expectations.
• Mitigates risk through understanding of proposed terms and conditions and develops recommendations for contract language to meet business needs.
• Identify and communicate risk areas throughout the negotiation contract lifecycle and the renewal process. Escalate issues appropriately.
• Drive compliance with Legal, organizational and departmental policies and procedures with adherence to processes and business rules.
• Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs.

Requirements
• BS/BA required.
• Minimum 5+ years of contracting and negotiating experience, with relevant experience in the Pharmaceutical, Biotechnology or Consumer Health industries.
• Ability to operate effectively in an environment with high levels of ambiguity.
• Ability to deal with high levels of complexity, focusing on outcomes.
• Continuous improvement mind-set and disposition is critical.
