Job Description
AECOM has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Environmental Engineer to join our Remediation team in our New York City office. You will work with a diverse team of technical leaders across a broad range of practice areas delivering remediation consulting services to our key clients with a focus on sediment remediation projects.
AECOM’s experience includes work on many of the nation’s most highly visible and complex sediment projects. AECOM offers expertise in all aspects of contaminated sediment and ecological restoration. Our sediment and waterway restoration project teams support a wide range of public, power, and private sector clients. Our customers include industry and PRP groups, as well as state and federal governmental entities and port authorities, and are often intertwined with large iconic infrastructure projects. Our practitioners provide thought leadership at technical conferences and often collaborate with academia, industry and government organizations to publish leading research.
This position requires excellent written and spoken communication skills, organizational and time management skills, flexibility to work on a multitude of diverse projects, a positive attitude, and a willingness to learn new skills.
The successful candidate will be committed to the team’s success and growth; will rigorously apply safety policies and procedures; will manage the technical, cost and schedule elements of project delivery; and will effectively manage the quality of field efforts and project deliverables within the bounds of the AECOM Quality Management System. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
• Work collaboratively with the NY/NJ Remediation Area Manager and other teams within the Remediation department, and professionals within other AECOM internal business lines.
• Develop new business, including marketing and proposing to potential and existing clients, and be integral in process of securing and managing clients and contracts.
• Act as Project Manager on large, complex projects, responsible for technical delivery, schedule management, fiscal management, client liaison, reporting requirements, and coordination with project team members.
• Coordinate and prepare written reports, work plans, and technical memorandums; analyze data and develop supported conclusions.
• Proactively identify opportunities to increase project efficiencies, improve technical methodologies and add value to client service offerings.
• Assist with development of junior staff through ongoing mentoring.
Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
• BA/BS + 8 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
• Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical, Civil, or Environmental Engineering
• OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER certification
• Licensed Professional Engineer
• Valid U.S. Driver’s License
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• 9+ years of Remediation and Engineering experience
• Business development and client management experience.
• Strong understanding of remediation design, construction, and OM&M.
• Experience with the breadth of federal and local environmental laws, such as CERCLA, RCRA, TSCA, etc.
• Seller-doer with business development and client management experience.

Exempt Position: Offered rate of compensation (NY locations only) will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The salary range for this position is $115,000 – $165,000.
