Objective:
The Wayside Systems Engineer is responsible for support of preventive maintenance and repair of Wayside systems that includes telecommunication equipment, fare collection equipment, analog and digital CCTV, ATC system. Also responsible for ensuring that all work carried out is performed according to the specifications and all applicable codes and meets industry standards and quality requirements.
Responsibilities:
• Analyze & evaluate wayside systems performance levels & make recommendations for hardware/software changes and for prototype and documentation of such changes. Conduct tests and review work to ensure installations and maintenance meet quality and regulatory standards as applied to electronic/electrical/telecommunication installations.
• Provide directions & support to wayside personnel who maintain wayside electrical, electronic and communication systems. Assist with second/third level repairs and troubleshooting skills development.
• Ensures performance of preventive and corrective maintenance for all wayside systems equipment in a timely manner to meet system performance targets and meet acceptable quality control standards.
• Prepares reports and participates in meetings with other Maintenance and Operations staff and the client. Compiles detailed reports on daily, weekly and monthly basis of performance of the wayside systems. Participates in the definition of performance objectives for the Department.
• In all working situations, ensures compliance with Company policies, safety regulations and safe work practices.
Educational/Experience Requirements:
• BE in Electrical/Electronic/Communications
• Five years’ experience in maintenance of power distribution systems or in the electronics and/or telecommunications field or in the transportation industry is preferred. Must have experience with computer-controlled systems in an on-line operating environment.

Salary Min – $76,125 Max – $116,725
