Job Description

Davis Wright Tremaine LLP is seeking a mid-level associate with a minimum of three years’ experience to join its commercial litigation group in New York. Large law-firm or established boutique experience is required. The candidate should have experience in commercial litigation pending in state and federal courts or arbitrations, including managing cases; drafting and research responsibility for pleadings and contested motions (such as motions to dismiss, motions for summary judgment, preliminary injunction or class certification briefing); taking depositions; propounding written discovery and responses; and arguing motions. Candidates should have experience or demonstrated interest in complex litigation-especially areas of focus including disputes concerning contract performance, breach of fiduciary duties, debtor and creditor matters, partnerships and shareholders, supply and vendor agreements, unfair competition, and consumer class actions. Excellent writing and oral advocacy skills are required. Clerkship and court experience is not required but a plus.

The annualized salary range for this position in New York is $220,000 to $255,000. Actual pay will be adjusted based on the candidate’s education, training, experience and other job-related factors permitted by law. Full time employees may be eligible for a bonus and health insurance with an optional HSA, long term disability, dental insurance, vision care, life insurance, Healthcare and Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts, 401(k), vacation, sick time, 10 paid holidays each year and an employee assistance program. For full-time employees, the initial sick leave benefit is 80 hours of sick leave per year. Attorneys generally take approximately three weeks of vacation from work each year, and it may vary depending on the needs of the clients and the firm. Additional voluntary benefits programs include: voluntary accident insurance, voluntary life, voluntary disability, voluntary long term care, and pet insurance. Commuter and Transit programs are also available.
