Job mission
As the Commercial Strategy Director for Cartier North America, you will play a pivotal role in driving the brand’s success and growth within the North American market. Leveraging your extensive experience in strategic planning, marketing analysis, and sales management, you will lead the development and execution of commercial strategies to optimize revenue, enhance brand positioning, and maximize customer engagement across retail network.
Reporting to the AVP Commercial Strategy and Network Development, the Commercial Strategy Director will oversee key strategic projects for the Cartier Maison in the North American region.
Key Responsibilities:
Support the AVP in the definition and prioritization of the projects and strategy amongst commercial departments.
• Define and implement the adequate governance for all forums within the Commercial Department, including proposing new tools to coordinate these projects.
• Coordinate all presentations to Regional Exco, HQ Exco and Commercial teams, including the Strategic and Action Plan of the Maison.
• Animate the Boutique Population with the creation and coordination of the Quarterly meetings to cascade the strategy to all our commercial employees, in the field.
• Support in the organization of all the annual sales meeting, from the creation of the agenda, presentations, and logistics aspects of the rendezvous.
Coordinate 360 Flagships Boutique Plans and Openings
• Define governance and work streams for the project, taking into consideration the various steps of development and validations of the project. Working closely with the retail teams at flagship locations to ensure the delivery of exceptional customer experiences, adherence to brand guidelines, and achievement of sales targets.
• Briefing: Build the Brief Card of the Flagship including a 360 approach
• Define the purpose of the Flagship, utilizing data-driven approaches to identify opportunities for enhancing customer engagement and loyalty.
• Together with regional team and client engagement and experience teams, perform a deep analysis and understanding of client expectations and insights.
• Work closely with Business Insights and Network Development teams to define the right potential for the Boutique.
• Integrate all key objectives including operations, clients experience, CSR, staff experience, DEI, BOH needs.
• Follow-up of the project with Architects (SDP), Finance and other commercial pillars.
• Coordinate the development of all phases of the projects including:
• In strong partnership with HR Teams, define recruitment and training plan with Boutique staff.
• Collaborate with the marketing team to align retail and flagship strategies with brand positioning and marketing initiatives.
• Ensure consistent and impactful communication of Cartier’s brand values and unique offerings across all retail touchpoints.
• Hospitality definition and development.
• Operations, Security, and IT, not forgetting the BOH optimization to support an efficient and smooth client and staff journey.
• Develop and lead the implementation of 360 projects and action plans, including but not limited to
• Commercial MAP development
• Other strategic presentations (e.g. market updates for senior leadership, HQ visits etc.)
• Commercial meeting preparation (e.g. ASM Meetings, Commercial Leadership Meetings, etc.)
Project Management:
• Partner with Commercial leaders to maintain an ongoing list of all current and future Commercial projects (both North America-initiated and HQ-initiated); support leadership in prioritizing these projects and keep leadership abreast of project status.
• Continuously evaluate projects to ensure they remain relevant and are categorized with accurate/ updated prioritization.
• Collaborate with other department leaders to define, prioritize, and develop Commercial projects.
• Plan project management, including setting deadlines, prioritizing tasks, and assigning team members to various deliverables.
• Analyze financial data, including project budgets, risks, and resource allocation.
• Set ROI objectives and track results (where appropriate); provide post-mortem reporting to EXCO and other stakeholders and utilize results to inform future planning.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Marketing, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree is a plus.
• Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in Commercial Strategy, sales management, or business development within the luxury retail sector, preferably in North America.
• Proven track record of developing and executing successful commercial strategies that drive revenue growth and brand expansion.
• Strong analytical skills, with the ability to translate data into actionable insights and strategies.
• Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated ability to lead and motivate cross-functional teams effectively.
• In-depth knowledge of the luxury retail market and customer behavior in North America.
• Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with fluency in English (additional languages inclusive of French, are a plus).

Expected base salary range: $170,000-$190,000.
Salary will be negotiated based on relevant skills and experience.
