Summary: Fenwick & West, a law firm dedicated to technology and life sciences companies, is looking to add an experienced mid-level privacy and cybersecurity associate to its Chambers ranked Privacy & Security practice. The ideal candidate will have four (4) to five (5) years of deep experience in these areas as they relate to business transactions such as licensing, M&A and commercial contracting. The successful candidate will have significant experience in drafting privacy/security policies; negotiating privacy related contracts and DPAs; providing product counseling; conducting privacy compliance assessment; and leading due diligence for M&A and financings. It is also beneficial for the candidate to have a good understanding of federal laws such as HIPAA, GLBA, FCRA, CAN-SPAM, COPPA, and the FTC Act; state laws such as CCPA, CPRA, and VaCDPA; and international laws and regimes such as GDPR, LGPD, and CSL. Technical background and experience with AdTech and AI would be useful, but not essential. Candidates should have superior academic credentials, excellent oral, written and interpersonal skills, and strong professional references. NY bar membership (or eligibility to waive into NY bar or take next available NY bar exam) is required. The anticipated salary range for this position is between $295,000 – $370,000, with a discretionary bonus for eligible employees based on performance.
