General Description of the Role

This position is functionally responsible for Demand Planning in USA

Full business process ownership for the development of the 24-month operational shipment forecast

Ownership & Governance of the Demand Planning process and system, ensuring overall regional compliance with the global planning cycle and monthly activities.

Act as the key business reference between the SC Planning and the Business Unit with respect to the shipment volume plan & continuous improvement initiatives

The Demand Planning role also plays a pivotal role in developing and coordinating the Sales & Operations Planning process across the country

Key Responsibilities and Activities

Forecast Generation & Enrichment

Lead the Demand Planning processes for USA to provide an aligned rolling 24month operational forecast/volume plan.

Lead the Shipment Forecast generation, enrichment, review and tracking processes working with key stakeholders.

Work with Distributors and Finance to ensure the target inventory levels being used for replenishment planning are understood and reflected in the Campari forecasting tool

Proactively communicate with marketing on new product development (Innovation & Fast Track) to keep abreast of all NPD and promotion plans. Include new “Phase In” SKUs in the monthly Planning Cycle to capture volume forecast in APO system as early as possible.

Ensure that statistical forecasting is leveraged as a base for the volume planning process.

Maintenance of APO Demand Planning books, master Data & History cleansing – own the local definition & review of the parameters of the statistical tool (APO)

Forecast Review & tracking

Work closely with the BU’s to share demand trends/pacing, and key deviations/alerts to highlight potential impacts to distributor inventory, supply and financial plans

Evaluate, orders in portfolio, historical shipments, depletions forecast and distributor inventory to proactively identify & analyse incomplete or inaccurate information and inventory/stock risks at Distributors

Collaborate on APO/BPC planning cycles. Ensure consistency/continuity with BU & Group planning calendar

Facilitate internal planning operational activities such as implementation and review of SS inventory policies

Performance Management

Drive improved performance across all Demand Planning indicators including MAPE and BIAS- ensure KPI’s are understood & fully embedded.

Build capability & mastery in Demand Planning. Drive continuous improvement in process, tools, ways of working and behaviors

Conduct ongoing training on processes and systems to Key Users in Sales, Marketing, FP&A to ensure full understanding of the Campari Demand planning process

SOP

Embrace & promote the vision of S&OP in the countries. Drive continuous improvement to achieve the S&OP vision, objectives and desired benefits

Lead/own the local shipment consensus meetings/Demand Review step of the S&OP process ensure global and regional standards are met

Conduct ongoing training on processes and systems to Key Users in Sales, Marketing, FP&A to ensure full understanding of S&OP

Experience Required

+5 Years work experience in Demand/Planning Forecasting and/or Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP/ IBP),

Education / Professional Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree

APICS CPIM certified or similar accreditation – preferred.

Oliver Wight or similar Sales & Operations Planning / Integrated Business Management certified courses a plus

Knowledge/Skills

Functional:

Strong understanding and experience of demand management principles and processes

Good understanding of end-to-end supply chain operational processes

Knowledgeable of leading practice S&OP concepts.

Strong knowledge of commercial forecasting methods, background in statistical forecasting preferred.

Project management/leadership and business transformation experience

Experience in process development & continuous improvement,

Strong analytical skills and basic knowledge of statistics preferred.

Technical:

Advanced Excel & Strong PowerPoint skills

Operational knowledge of planning tools and technology – experience with SAP ECC and SAP BW/BI preferred.

Experience of implementation and/or working with supply chain solutions, software and systems is beneficial.

Other:

Ability to engage & influence key stakeholders and able to work in a multicultural, matrix structure.

Excellent problem-solving skills and out of the box thinking.

Ability to anticipate risks or opportunities.

Strong communication skills, both verbal and written – fluent in English

Personal maturity and tact to effectively to work cross-functionally to deliver results through others.

Facilitation, and negotiation skills

The expected base salary for this position, based in New York City ranges from $110,000- $150,000. The range will vary if outside of this location. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors and considerations. In addition to base salary and a generous employee benefits package, employees are eligible to receive a discretionary bonus.
