Interactive Designer, Ad Innovation
Wall Street Journal | Barron’s Group (WSJ|BG) is looking for an experienced interactive designer to join the Ad Innovation rich media studio. Reporting to the Sr. Manager, this person will be responsible for designing and building rich media executions that deliver best-in-market ad experiences for advertising clients.
The ideal candidate will be solutions-driven and passionate about creating beautiful and intuitive ad experiences. They will be an integral contributor for helping establish the WSJ|BG Ad Studio as an industry leader in custom advertising solutions. They will own the ongoing campaign workflow and translate each set of RFP objectives into elegant and performance-driven rich media executions.
In collaboration with the Project Management team, the candidate will be responsible for contributing to the entire custom rich media design and production lifecycle – inclusive of pre-sale mocks and ideation, post-sale ad unit production, and user experience input for new proprietary formats.
Primary responsibilities:
Campaign Ad Creative Production
• Generate mocks and storyboards for new unit concepts (upon request)
• Efficiently produce ad units for assigned campaigns, leveraging client KPIs
• Execute all components of ad production within the Celtra ad platform, inclusive of design, functionality and custom event implementation when applicable
• Facilitate revisions, creative updates and asset adjustments requested by project managers, as they streamline client requests and feedback
• Support Ad Ops with QA of ad units in live environments, making adjustments where needed
• Develop and enforce best practices of interactive design, prioritizing performance and polite UX
• Communicate recommendations for optimizations to project managers
• Facilitate expedited requests with a sense of urgency, purpose and professionalism
• Contribute to pre-sale concept ideation
Contribute to New Template Design
• Work with the Sr. Interactive Designer to design responsive templates in Celtra
• Configure streamlined ad creative specs and branded asset deliverables
• Incorporate WSJ|BG best practices for design standards & ethics
• Suggest creative and/or performance optimizations for existing templates
• Prioritize intuitive UI and polite, elegant UX
Qualifications:
• 2+ years experience in digital design
• Experience working in ad studio platforms, with Celtra experience as a plus
• Strong creative portfolio featuring past digital design work
• Stand-out understanding of intuitive UI/UX
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with ability to clearly articulate design decisions
• Enthusiastic, professional demeanor and experience working in a client-oriented setting (internal or external)
• Self-driven, proactive, organized and detail-rigorous
• Background in digital advertising is a plus

Pay Range: $40,000 – $160,000
