Job Description

Foley Hoag LLP seeks a Mid-level Associate-International Litigation and Arbitration in New York, NY. For international dispute resolution matters, research/draft research memoranda and legal briefs, research/draft outlines for cross examination, prepare draft opening/closing statements, prepare draft submissions before UN bodies, draft UN concept notes, conduct document review and manage document production, prepare response and object to document requests. Reqs: J.D. or equivalent from civil law jurisdiction; LL.M. or equivalent from U.S. law school; 3 yrs exp in international litigation and arbitration and 2 years in research/drafting/developing arguments for proceedings before international courts/tribunals (including International Court of Justice, European Court of Human Rights, and investment treating tribunals) the United Nation and its bodies, including managing document production, interviewing witnesses, working with technical expert witnesses, preparing for/participating in hearings before international courts/tribunals (including International Court of Justice and investment treaty tribunals), formulating strategic planning in cases representing Sovereign States in investor-State arbitration and inter-State disputes involving human rights violations and other public international law issues, and researching/drafting submissions/interventions/resolutions for matters before organs of the United Nations, or bodies and independent experts established/appointed by United Nations (exp can be gained concurrently). Fluency in written and oral French and Arabic. Admission to NY bar. Salary $245,000-$275,000.
