As a Barclays Municipal Credit Risk Assistant Vice President, you will be part of The Wholesale Credit Sanctioning (WCS) Municipals teams responsible for carrying out credit analysis, sanctioning credit limits, and ultimately approving credit risk for all municipal and sovereign obligors domiciled in the United States and Canada. The Global Risk function is responsible for evaluating, monitoring, and controlling Market, Credit, Contingent, Operational and Settlement Risk to ensure comprehensive and effective control.
Salary / Rate Minimum: 115,000
Salary / Rate Maximum: 150,000

What will you be doing?
• Managing effectively credit risk (evaluation of risk/exposure management) of credits within the North American Public Finance
• Having prudently and appropriate use of delegated discretion to approve credit proposals in accordance with Bank policy
• Ensuring continued growth of the business without incurring unmanageable risks
• Engaging in assessing and making recommendations of proposals received from business development/product areas
• Staying current with financial analysis and risk profile of the assigned sector, borrowers and counterparties
• Collaborating with senior management and alerting them to negative developments and trends within the assigned sectors and clients
What we’re looking for:
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, or Economics preferred
• Three to four years’ experience in credit risk or relevant experience, preferably gained at a major institution, covering Municipal/Public Finance clients
Skills that will help you in the role:
• An MBA, CPA, or CFA and formal Credit training preferred
• Solid understanding of municipal finance and banking products
• Excellent problem-solving skills
• Possess excellent analytical skills with attention to detail, ability to provide big picture decision making, and ability to mentor junior staff
Where will you be working?
You will be working at our Americas Headquarters at 745 Seventh Avenue. This 37-story office tower is located in Times Square in the heart of Manhattan and features a cafeteria, fitness center and state-of-the-art LED signage on the facade of the building.
