Description Our reputable client is seeking a Payroll Manager to join the company. The Payroll Manager will help meet standards for the financial department necessary for growth and will work on tax-related tasks, such as W2 forms, preparing reports and updating policies. How you will make an impact
• Build systems to process payroll account transactions (e.g., salaries, benefits, garnishments, deductions, taxes and third-party payments)
• Follow internal policies and act in accordance with relevant laws
• Manage and train payroll clerks and assistants
• Regulate system upgrades and the processing of payroll changes (e.g., new hires, terminations, raises)
• Manage payroll tax audits and liaise with auditors
• Answer payroll-related questions and resolve issues
• Manage timekeeping and payroll systems
• Manage the accuracy of records and prepare reports
• Engage with accounting and Human Resources (HR) teams Requirements
• Superb understanding of multi-location payroll and taxes
• 5+ years of payroll experience
• Strong understanding of compliance
• Trained in handling confidential business matters and information with discretion
• Experience processing payroll in higher education, highly preferred
• Excellent leadership and organizational skills
• Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Human Resources or related field
• CPP, CPM, or other related professional certifications is a plus
• 2+ years of proven leadership experience as a payroll manager or similar role
• Ample knowledge of various payroll applications
• Solid grasp on current payroll procedures and related laws
