$90,000 – $110,000 PER YEAR
Located on the water in Lower Manhattan, the iconic Battery Maritime Building, one of the last remaining Beaux-Arts style ferry terminals of the twentieth century, designed in 1906, was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1976.
It is being developed into Casa Cipriani, a true private members club in the modern sense and will bring together an eclectic community who shares life’s simple pleasures. The building will include Casa Cipriani luxury 47 rooms and suites hotel with private balconies overlooking the Brooklyn bridge and the Statue of Liberty.
Casa Cipriani is looking for an individual who is a proactive and dynamic sales professional and outside the box thinker, with a proven track record in luxury hotel sales. Strong interpersonal and management skills are also required.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES:
• Will be responsible for meeting all sales targets set for their market segment.
• Manage and direct the on-property multi-segment sales efforts to achieve hotel revenue goals by proactively targeting current and prospecting new high value accounts in these markets to grow Casa Cipriani’s business
• Other responsibilities will include the implementation of effective sales deployment strategies to grow market share
• Monitoring customer experience from arrival to departure
• Leading a seamless transition from sales to service in a timely fashion for quality service delivery and, where appropriate, orchestrating operational execution due to the complexity or some guest’s requirements/needs.
• Conducting site inspections, client entertaining, sales trips and trade shows as required.
• Entertaining potential and existing clientele to develop and maintain relationships.
• Creating and implementing quarterly sales action plans.
• Meeting and exceeding quarterly sales goals.
• Extremely high-level attention to detail.
• Must be well versed and effective in selling high rated, luxury suites with a keen understanding of the uber-luxury market.
• Led by the Director of Global sales, work in tandem with both the Head of Membership so leverage/piggyback and share corporate leads back and forth. Also work closing with the Head of Catering at ‘Cipriani 10 South Street’ to handle all group and corporate leads funneled through.
• Implementing Casa Cipriani’s service strategy and representing the brand in all aspects of the sales process, with the goal of driving customer loyalty through service excellence.
• Be required to be effective at handling problems, including anticipating, preventing, identifying, and solving problems, as necessary.
• Must be able to understand and evaluate complex information, data, etc. from various sources to meet appropriate objectives.
• Must stay on top of current trends in their markets and maintain confidentiality of information.
• Must be able to effectively communicate both verbally and written with all levels of employees and guests in an attentive, friendly, courteous, and service oriented manner.
• Must be effective at listening to, understanding, and clarifying concerns raised by employees and guests.
• Must be able to multitask and prioritize departmental functions to meet deadlines.
• Approach all encounters with guests and employees in an attentive, friendly, courteous, and service-oriented manner
• Use hoteligence monthly to identify new accounts
• Be versed in IATA’s and analyzing data and enter all sales activity daily into Delphi
• Perform other duties as requested by management
• Engage with club members, as appropriate, long term stay inquiries for members
OTHER:
• Regular attendance in conformance with the standards, which may be established from time to time, is essential to the successful performance of this position. Employees with irregular attendance will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.
• Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the organization. In addition, attendance at all scheduled training sessions and meetings is required.
• Upon employment, all employees are required to fully comply with Cipriani rules and regulations for the safe and effective operation of the facilities. Employees who violate rules and regulations will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.
SUPPORTIVE FUNCTIONS:
In addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions:
• To maintain a good and effective industrial relations climate with Cipriani management, and show a willingness to support any necessary change development of the services’ provided.
• To protect restaurant and diners by adhering to sanitation, safety, and alcohol beverage control policies.
SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of knowledge, skills, and abilities:
• At least 5 years of NY on property sales experience.
• Experience in entertainment sales account relationships.
• Experience in corporate negotiated account relationships.
• Experience with Delphi.fdc (salesforce), Opera, Microsoft office, and Hoteligence preferred.
• Outstanding surveillance and observation skills.
• Ability to exercise good judgment.
• Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace.
• Auditory and visual abilities to observe and detect signs of emergency situations.
• Working knowledge of public safety, security operations, and procedures.
• Must be able to read and write to facilitate the communication process.
• Requires good communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Knowledge of the city, particularly tourist attractions.
• The ability to communicate clear directions to nearby local attractions, facilities, and services.
• Ability to learn and perform all essential job functions accurately and safely.
• Ability to walk, stand, and continuously perform essential functions for an extended period of time.
PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES AND REQUIREMENTS OF THIS POSITION:
• Most work tasks are performed indoors. Temperature is moderate and controlled by facility environmental systems.
• Must be able to exert well-paced ability in limited space and to reach other locations of the property on a timely basis.
