Your role
The Accounting team is responsible for all general accounting tasks, including expense accruals, analysis, consolidation, and financial statement preparation. Reporting to an Accounting Manager, the Senior Accountant is a key role on the team responsible for recording transactions in accordance with GAAP through preparation of journal entries and related support.
Key Responsibilities
• On a monthly basis, close the books in accordance with GAAP in 5 business days. This includes journal entry preparation, balance sheet account reconciliations, and GL account analyses to ensure completeness and accuracy of financial results.
• Analyze period over period results and provide meaningful commentary on reasons for variances.
• Automate and/or streamline manual and inefficient processes; contribute to the ongoing development and implementation of internal controls.
• Assist with providing information to the external auditors in connection with the year-end financial statement audit.
• On a monthly basis, prepare Balance Sheet reconciliations.
Required Qualifications:
• At least 4 years of progressive experience as an accounting professional
• Bachelor’s degree – Accounting
• Strong knowledge of GAAP
• SAP, Oracle, or similar ERP experience
• Advanced Excel skills
• Strong aptitude to understand accounting systems and how to extract and reconcile information
• Able to work in a dynamic, fluid, fast-paced environment
• Able to effectively work on a remote team
Desired/Preferred Qualifications:
• CPA
• Public Accounting Experience
• Workday (ERP system) experience
