This role will primarily focus on compensation data and analytics supporting MetLife Investment Management (MIM), as well as contribute to enterprise-wide processes and initiatives. The Senior Comp Analyst plays a key role in ensuring the competitiveness and effectiveness of MIM’s evolving compensation program and practices. This role conducts global research and analysis around competitive intelligence, provides data and analysis to ensure MIM’s compensation opportunities are market-aligned, supports the annual Pay for Performance process through modeling/testing/analytics, supports the MIM mid-year promotion process, conducts preliminary job analyses for changing or new roles, and collaborates with Compensation and HR colleagues across MetLife.
Key Responsibilities:
• Serve as primary resource for compensation analysis for MIM roles globally, including competitive benchmarking and custom research in response to evolving market trends and/or HRBP and executive requests.
• Conduct compensation analyses to assess the market alignment of MIM’s compensation opportunities in terms of competitive total pay as well as market practice on pay delivery (e.g., mix, vehicles).
• Conduct preliminary job evaluation on changed or new MIM roles, recommending the level – with rationale and relevant comparators – to MIM and Executive/Global Compensation leaders.
• Partner with Global Compensation and MIM HRBPs to ensure a smooth annual pay for performance (PFP) process for MIM managers in each country around the world; contribute to compensation range modelling and updates by country utilizing reputable compensation survey data; ensure employee data is accurate by running periodic reports (e.g., HCM, Crunchr) and participating in system testing (e.g., PFP); analyze PFP data and recommendations. Conduct analysis for MIM’s promotion processes.
• Collaborate with MIM Finance colleagues on matters such as compensation budgeting, MIM incentive accruals and reconciliations, and contribute to responses to control functions (e.g., Audit, Legal, Risk) related to MIM compensation while protecting personally identifiable information.
• Participate in meetings with external parties including consultants and vendors, such as the annual McLagan Asset Management meeting and Johnson Associates periodic market briefings.
• Design and develop analytical models that assess the competitiveness and effectiveness of existing and proposed compensation programs. Conduct custom analyses and prepare data and graphics to facilitate MIM & HR executive decision making.
• Perform other duties as assigned (e.g., audit, ad-hoc reporting and analysis, special projects (such as M&A-related modeling and integration), system integration/upgrades and testing, process improvement, etc.).
Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:
Required
• Five or more years of relevant experience in a company or consulting environment
• Keen analytical ability with exposure to financial and accounting impacts of rewards programs; deeply analytical mindset with intellectual curiosity and awareness of business/world events and impacts.
• Advanced skills in Excel (including regression analysis, modeling, pivot tables, etc.), Power Point, Microsoft Applications, and report writing; database skills preferred.
• Extreme detail-orientation and commitment to accuracy and quality balanced with timeliness.
• Clear, concise and effective verbal and written communication skills; ability to present facts, insights and recommendations with effective graphics and storytelling.
• Analytical yet practical, critical thinker; ability to convey complex topics clearly and succinctly.
• Strong project management skills and ability to work collaboratively with representatives of other departments or functions as well as people in other cultures and with diverse perspectives.
• Experience and understanding of enterprise information systems on a global scale, and ability to quickly grasp proprietary HR processes and systems; familiarity with Oracle-cloud and/or Willis Towers Watson’s REWARD Compensation Software a plus.
• Action-oriented and results-driven; ability to multi-task, collaborate and deliver.

Preferred
• Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent work experience
• Attainment of, or progress towards, Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) designation through WorldatWork preferred.
• Expertise in asset management compensation and analytics strongly preferred.

The wage range for applicants for this position is $84,500 to $112,600. This role is also eligible for annual short-term incentive compensation. MetLife offers a comprehensive benefits program, including healthcare benefits, life insurance, retirement benefits, parental leave, legal plan services and paid time off.
