Senior Manager, Global HR Project & Process Management

The following position is open in New York, NY or Chicago, IL.

The mission of this role is to improve the successful delivery of HR projects through skilled leadership and the application of best practices in two key areas: project management and process excellence.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled senior project manager who is looking to broaden their responsibilities and grow their leadership experience. The ideal candidate is someone who:
• Has deep hands-on experience blending project management, process improvement and change management methods into project work.
• Has a drive to grow the project management and process excellence disciplines in an organization that does not currently have standard ways of working.
• Can articulate a realistic vision given our current-state HR skillset and define the path to mature the discipline.
• Is exceptional at understanding how to influence stakeholders when introducing new ways of working to organizations with less mature processes.
• Thrives on being actively involved in managing multiple challenging initiatives.

Role Responsibilities
• The successful incumbent will bring project management leadership to the HR organization by embedding the use of standard project management methods and tools for projects.
• Make recommendations to senior leadership regarding the prioritization, effort and resources needed to deliver projects in support of organizational objectives.
• Apply technical expertise, critical thinking, and leadership skills to manage complex global HR projects, composed of multiple team members who may have limited experience working on technology projects.
• Responsible for all phases of project management for key projects including:
• Develop and present the business case for approval.
• Develop and execute project plans that address people, process, and technology changes.
• Monitor and manage projects, deliverables, milestone achievements, dependencies, budget, and risk mitigation strategies to achieve project objectives.
• Communicate and report on project status to the project team, HR Leadership Team and/or Steering Committees, providing the appropriate level of information to each stakeholder group.
• Provide coaching / guidance to team members to ensure deliverables are met including assigned work, project documentation, process modifications, SOPs, training materials, training delivery, etc.
• This role will manage the Global Process Excellence Manager incumbent who is responsible for managing process improvement initiatives across the global HR organization to simplify, increase efficiency, automate, and improve user experience of HR processes.

Provide direction for the Process Excellence Manager to support definition of their goals, prioritization of process work, and the path for maturing the discipline. Additionally, provide thought partnership on specific projects as well as ongoing leadership to assist the PE Manager in achieving their goals.

Qualifications & Experience

To be successful in this role, the candidate must have the following knowledge, skills, and abilities:
• 5+ years hands-on experience and knowledge managing projects including:
• Developing business cases
• Project planning
• Matrix management of teams to accomplish work plans.
• Managing budgets and resources
• Preparing and delivering project status updates to leaders and stakeholders
• Ensuring key change management activities are incorporated in the project.
• 3+ years performing core Business Analyst responsibilities including:
• Leading requirements gathering sessions and engaging business users to elicit functional requirements .
• Performing gap analysis between “as is” and “to be” states.
• Leading process mapping sessions and documenting processes
• Documenting software procedures
• Formal Project Management training (PMP or equivalent training)
• Understanding of the general architecture of HR systems (e.g., HCM, benefits, payroll, etc.) and experience implementing these technologies, including the interfaces needed to automate end to end HR processes.
• Deep experience in the details of project work to understand which details have a critical impact on success / anticipate where problems will occur and provide focused project leadership that ensures successful completion of the work.
• The ability to quickly understand how to be successful within the Beam Suntory culture and adapt one’s style to influence, motivate and lead globally diverse groups.
• Courageously drive for results and be comfortable with accountability for achieving your goals.

The salary range for this role, based in New York, NY, is $120,000-$150,000, along with an annual bonus, 401K match, profit sharing, and medical and wellness benefits. The salary is commensurate with the candidate’s location, experience, and skill set. The range will vary if outside of New York, NY.
