Job Location: NYC, NY (200 Park Avenue)

Position is Hybrid, in office 3 days a week.

US Strategy works across MetLife’s US lines of business, Group Benefits, Retirement Income Solutions and MetLife Holdings to execute on high priority business objectives. US Strategy supports the President of the US Business to set, refresh, and communicate the strategy and drive critical initiatives. We work with leaders across the US Business and our partner organizations to solve business problems and drive change. This team is laser focused on execution, leading complex transformational initiatives to deliver on business priorities.

The Director, US Strategy will work across the US Business to identify, refresh and execute on workstreams within large transformation or complex initiatives. This individual will spend a significant portion of time researching, synthesizing and analyzing data, and stakeholder information to develop recommendations and detailed business cases. They will be responsible for navigating MetLife’s internal processes to support new and existing vendor partnerships. They will be responsible for drafting clear and concise communication materials intended for senior leadership. The Director will gain invaluable experience working across the US Business and supporting functions while engaging with MetLife senior leaders.

Key Responsibilities:
• Work independently, partnering with US business leaders and functional partners to scope, define and coordinate initiatives in support of business strategy.
• Participate in and lead cross-functional teams on high visibility complex projects from ideation through execution, which require considerable resources and high levels of functional integration.
• Develop and refine performance measures and internal/external benchmarks to develop an information framework to support business outcomes.
• Create executive-level communications
• Leverage research using a variety of tools to package competitor information, customer data and industry trends that shape the global insurance and financial services marketplace.
• Collect data sets and metrics from various sources and utilize tools, to complete complex analyses such as profitability projections, feasibility studies, benchmark comparisons, and other reports.
• Develop a perspective and create recommendations for senior management review.
• Develop complex financial and investment models and participates in preparing ROI analysis as necessary for senior management.

Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills

Required:
• 5+ years of relevant experience in strategy or business planning
• Demonstrate distinctive problem solving and analytical skills
• Must possess business maturity, have strong presence, and possess good written and verbal communication skills
• Organized and detail oriented
• Strategic thinker with strong execution capabilities
• Strong data analytics and financial modeling skills
• A self-starter, with the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
• Ability to manage consensus at various levels and cultivate strategic internal relationships across a matrixed organization
• Ability to influence and negotiate without formal direct authority, consultative in approach; diplomatic
• Individual contributor, no direct supervisory responsibilities

Preferred:
• MBA or Masters degree is highly preferred
• Experience at a top tier consulting firm or in a strategic planning function at a Fortune 500 firm
• Prior insurance or financial services experience is a plus but not mandatory

The wage range for applicants for this position is 121,400 to 161,800. This role is also eligible for annual short-term incentive compensation.
