The Role: Global Risk & Compliance Project Analyst

Grade (relevant for internal applicants only): 9

The Location: 55 Water Street, NYC

The Team: Risk Management advises the organization on the design and execution of strategy, making risk–based decisions, and evaluating opportunities. Compliance partners with the business to help navigate a constantly evolving regulatory environment and proactively prevents issues from arising. The Operations function oversees the implementation of strategic programs and initiatives across several Risk Management and Compliance functions as well as leading digital initiatives.

The Impact: The Global Risk Assurance Operations Project Analyst will have an impact on guiding the organization’s strategy by enabling leaders to make risk-informed, data driven decisions. Analysts will have high visibility within the organization, interact with senior leadership, and work on cross-functional projects. Analysts will lead initiatives that drive transformations within the Risk Management and Compliance function to meet evolving business needs in a digital environment.

Responsibilities:
• Assist in analyzing risk and compliance data to identify trends and insights that can be used in driving business decisions.
• Work closely with the Operations Director to operationalize strategic initiatives involving Digital Transformations, Risk Analytics, Project Management, and Reporting.
• Support the creation, management, and socialization of Risk & Compliance reporting dashboards.
• Manage Data Operations to conduct data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL). Create and manage ETL workflows in support of data warehouse and data governance strategies.
• Support senior management in creating reports and presentations for steering committees and the S&P Global Board of Directors. Load presentations and artifacts into software and platforms used by committees for secure content review in meetings.
• Identify and resolve complex problems using data, evidence, and subject matter expertise.
• Gather business requirements for Risk & Compliance reporting dashboards, coordinate development activities for dashboards, and manage stakeholder communications.
• Support in implementing and operationalizing a Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) tool.

Basic Qualifications:
• Strong problem-solving skills, ability to work in teams
• Analytical mindset, attention to detail, and strong communication skills
• Self-motivated, results driven, and intellectually curious
• Interested in data, technology, analytics, and quantitative work
• Previous experience in risk management, compliance, consulting, or quantitative analysis

Preferred Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in quantitative field
• Coursework in Risk Management, Finance, Business Administration, Economics, and Mathematics are preferred
• Experience and/or understanding of tools and services such as Tableau, Power BI, Alteryx, and AWS products.
• Experience and/or understanding of Python or SQL
