Senior Director, E-Commerce

JOB PURPOSE
• Maximize the potential of the US and CA online sales business across all product categories through our Retail business (DIESEL.COM), marketplaces and social commerce platforms. Support all online Department Store and e-tailers strategy on digital marketing and digital operations activities.
• Be innovative in the e-commerce/digital space while at the same time strategically leading, directing and overseeing the day-to-day business to meet company goals. Focus on all areas of digital operations, digital merchandising, shopping experience, performance marketing, CRM and customer acquisition.
• Continue to build up the Omni Channel platform and partner with Retail department to guarantee a seamless experience to Diesel customers across channel.
• Partner with the Marketing Department in an effort to integrate and leverage all go-to-market activities in the digital space and communicate consistently to our customers through all touchpoints, online and offline.
• Collaborate with the Global Online team to define a strategy and action plan, including monthly or weekly calls to share insights, needs, and opportunities.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
• Ensures delivery and achievement of net sales targets & growth plans through effective sales operations, digital marketing, digital merchandising, omnichannel development, and project launches.
• Ensures legal compliance requirements are implemented and monitored where required.
• Plans and controls the departmental budget, including sales, digital marketing spend, agent commissions, T&E, capex and depreciation, etc.
• Plans of day-to-day and annual workflow for self and team.
• Establishes priorities and team objectives; directs team’s work and ensures it is delegated accordingly to optimize output.
• Set targets for the team in conjunction with Planning and Buying department with the Wholesale team for e-tailers and .com accounts.
• Determines resources and equipment required in function to enable objective achievement.
• Interviews and selects direct reports and team members.
• Trains team on work practices and procedures & provides safety and security of employees.
• Appraises direct reports and team members’ performance on an annual and day-to-day basis; recommends promotions as appropriate to Human Resources.
• Maintains records on employees’ performance within team as required to enable effective supervision and control of team.
• Disciplines and performance manage employees within direct team on areas of substandard performance.
• Proposes employee status changes, up to and including employment termination, to Human Resources for areas of ongoing unsatisfactory performance or gross misconduct in line with Company policies and procedures.
• Receives and resolves employee concerns and complaints in conjunction with Human Resources.

ONLINE – Diesel.com
• Responsible for Diesel.com demand and net sales performances, conversion rate across all devices, traffic sources with particular focus on paid, organic traffic and emails. Define business priorities and key actions to achieve results.
• Ensure functioning of digital front-end operations to support the business activities while developing constant UX and contents improvement collaborating with external vendors as well as global team
• Constantly optimize customer acquisition tactics leveraging performance marketing, social media, emails and social commerce.
• Oversee all the outsourced back-end services such as ecommerce order management, fulfilment, fraud and customer service ensuring respect of SLA and policies to guarantee a premium service to Diesel customers.
• Develop and maintain relationships with all external partners monitoring service, economics and legal terms. Conduct benchmark and assessment to evaluate new partners for current and new services.
• Partner with buying, planning and allocation team on assortment and merchandising strategy, apply product priorities to site experience and share inputs on performances, ensuring the optimal presentation and stock level to guarantee conversion both on full price period and promotional events.
• Maximize the business opportunity of the commercial calendar ensuring that all key commercial occasions are exploited to maximize the business for both US and CA through all the digital touch points. Partner closely with global and local marketing on all traffic activations.
• Define and analyze weekly and monthly reporting to take business action as well as create standard ad hoc reports to support the growing needs of eCommerce operations.
• Stay current on market trends, product lifecycle, technological innovations, and environmental climates that affect demand for products. Uses this information to create accurate recommendations and forecasts for self and team.
• Research and propose new business opportunities in all digital areas to ensure constant growth of the channel. Define yearly budget target and long-term strategic plans in collaboration with company CEO and Global Head of Ecommerce.
• Partner with HQ to implement global ecommerce projects, supporting global directives while championing local business needs.

ONLINE – E-Tailers & Department Stores
• Maximize Amazon business in line with brand strategy ensuring correct pricing and representation of the brand. Explore new areas of collaboration in the digital space.
• Partner with head of WH and marketing to maximize online multi-brand sales across all product categories on ecommerce multi-brand wholesale accounts.
• Partner with WH team to maximize dropship business while ensuring smooth dropship operations in line with customer requirements.
• Determines wholesale ecommerce content needs and consumer communication.
• Work in partnership with Department Store/Multi-Brand online account AEs to provide operational support on catalogue, product copy, images and other site contents.
• Influence site usability for online wholesale accounts and eliminates operational problems for end users, ensuring that product flow to customers is unhindered, and cancellations/returns are reduced.
• Assess and activate strategic collaborations with marketplaces/e-tailers in line with brand positioning and brand strategy (i.e. Farfetch, Shopspring, Shopstyle, etc)

OMNI-CHANNEL
• Constantly optimize current omnichannel services (ship from store, ship to store, in store returns, find in store, store locator, dropship) to improve online conversion, drive traffic to the stores while guaranteeing a seamless and premium customer experience.
• Assess priorities and feasibility of activation of new services partnering with retail, buying, wholesale and marketing team.
• Drive the development of all new services supporting the definition of the technical and operational solution.
• Partner with HQ to implement global omnichannel projects, supporting global directives while championing local business needs.
• Ensure omnichannel approach also on commercial calendar, CRM and marketing activations in order to deliver consistent and effective messages to Diesel customers.

EDUCATION/LINCENSES/CERTIFICATIONS
• 4 year degree and/or equivalent combination of work and experience
• Qualifications:
• 7 + years of Ecommerce and Digital Marketing experience with a strong background in ecommerce operations for an online retail/wholesale business.
• 3+ years project management experience
• Expertise with inter functional coordination and collaboration
• 3+ years managing a team of 2+ direct reports
• Experience in the Fashion Market is required
• Expert of US and CA eMarket; Knowledge of Diesel wholesale competitive landscape
• Experience as a subsidiary interacting with a Global Headquarters
• 2+ years experience with Website management in operational execution
• Web analytics and reporting: ability to read and create reports
• Web marketing experience, including SEO, SEM, CRM, and email marketing
• Experience leveraging online marketing techniques to drive site traffic and conversion
• Basic understanding of retail math/financial indicators with ability to contribute to commercial discussions
• Understanding of ecommerce platforms (i.e. – Demandware, ATG, GSI)
• Familiarity with web analytics terminology and its application (i.e. – Omniture, Coremetrics, Google Analytics)
• Experience working with content management systems (i.e. Amazon)
• Established account relationships/experience with key customers (i.e. – Amazon)
• Some international ecommerce experience preferred

Salary range: $170,000-$185,000
