Description:Lockheed Martin in Uniondale, NY is seeking a full-time early career software engineer. In your role, you will be responsible for software development on the Trident FBM Submarine Navigation System. Responsibilities include full software lifecycle development (software design, implementation and all levels of test) and maintenance. You will have an opportunity to support Systems Engineering in developing operational concepts, system requirements and design as well developing test procedures and testing the system.
Must be a US Citizen ; this position will require a government security clearance. This position is located at a facility that requires special access.
Basic Qualifications:
Four year degree in Software Engineering or Computer Science from an accredited college.
Basic understanding of the full software life-cycle development
Academic or Professional experience of the following is highly desired: developing software with C++/C and Java on a Linux Operating System.
Must be a US Citizen; this position will require a government security clearance. This position is
located at a facility that requires special access.
Minimum 3.0 GPA desired but not required.
Desired Skills:
• Academic or Professional experience using GitLab
• Academic or Professional experience using Python
• Academic or professional experience in Database design and development
• Academic or professional experience in computer system administration and operating systems development with Windows & Unix/Linux, including shell scripting
• Basic understanding of Agile Software Development

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 9×80 every other Friday off
