Role Description
This person will be a key member of the iShares Markets Coverage team within EII Americas. The position is for a Fixed Income ETF specialist focused on the commercialization of iShares ETFs across our wealth and institutional client bases. Deep subject matter experts in Equity ETFs and Delta One products will be considered.
The Markets Coverage group is responsible for expanding ETF usage by delivering ETF implementation expertise, relative value analysis, and analytic solutions to iShares clients across the US, Canada, and Latin America. Specifically, this person will be accountable for working with iShares’ clients around the nuances of ETF markets and trading, spanning all Fixed Income sectors. In addition, the candidate will be accountable for comparing trade and holding costs of ETFs to other investment vehicles, including swaps, futures, and derivatives. This team member will need extensive financial market expertise, must have outstanding communication skills, and possess the ability to connect with a broad range of clients as well as internal partners such as sales and senior management. Finally, this person will be responsible for contributing to an inclusive, collaborative, and high performing work environment.
Responsibilities
• Be an ETF trading subject matter expert and demonstrate in-depth product knowledge to promote ETF usage and differentiate iShares from competitor funds and other investment vehicles
• Support client investment process across channels (institutional and retail) through education on ETF liquidity, consultation on ETF trading strategies, and identifying associated trade costs around implementation
• Partner closely with sales leaders, traveling to client meetings as necessary, to provide product specialist support with a focus on ETF implementation and capital markets
• Provide ETF Model Portfolio rebalance, due diligence, and implementation expertise to strategic internal and external iShares partners
• Write ETF focused market insight pieces and trading research for both internal and external audiences. Collect, analyze and extract meaning from ETF trading data in an effort to produce relevant content and drive inflows
• Contribute to the enhancement of propriety iShares ETF technology specific to trading and relative value analysis
• Drive advancement and innovation within the Fixed Income ETF ecosystem, inclusive of new products, improvements in market structure, and infrastructure enhancements
• Monitor articles, white papers, and blogs that highlight potential issues with ETFs and help to coordinate the proper response, making sure it is consistent with our global message
Skills and Qualifications
• BA / BS in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering or similar field; CFA a plus
• 5+ years of direct experience with fixed income as an asset class inclusive of cash bonds, derivatives, volatility and ETFs
• Credit Trading and/or Portfolio Management a plus
• Able to multi-task and work effectively at various levels of an organization
• Experience working on or leading strategic project teams
• Writing and editorial skills combined with interpersonal and communication skills
• Resourceful, proactive and able to prioritize and navigate in a fast-paced team oriented environment
• Skillful in Microsoft Office and Bloomberg. Python and SQL skill preferred
• Series 7 and 63 required
For New York City only: The salary range for this position is $142 500 – $190 000. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, and benefits including heath care, leave benefits, and retirement benefits. BlackRock operates a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy and your total compensation may vary based on role, location, and firm, department and individual performance.
