This is an exciting opportunity for a strong Change and Organizational Development leader to join New York Life at a pivotal role in the company’s evolution, setting up and overseeing a newly formed enterprise-wide change management and organizational development function. Reporting to the SVP Talent Management, the primary responsibility of this role will be standing up the CoE, creating and implementing standardized change management and organizational development best practices that can be deployed across the enterprise, upskilling and building a team of Talent and Change leads, and building enterprise manager and employee change leadership, readiness and resilience.

The leader will introduce a strong discipline of change and organizational development practices to NYL, using a highly consultative and execution-focused mindset, they will bring extensive expertise in building, leading and upskilling change management and organizational development teams, introducing best practice frameworks and strategies, as well as a proven track record of helping companies through large scale and complex transformations while retaining a strong focus on culture, engagement and DEI.

They will lead a team of change, organizational development and talent leads who will support change and other talent and organizational development initiatives in service of the business transformation, including but not limited to organizational readiness, leadership alignment, change impact identification, stakeholder assessment, learning needs, communication needs and end-to-end organizational development efforts. They will implement an internal consultancy-style model to prioritize work and allocate resources based on impact and reach and team aspirations and skill sets.

This role will work in partnership with and support leaders and HR colleagues to identify and diagnose organizational effectiveness challenges and opportunities to develop solutions that meet enterprise, leadership & workforce needs. They will conceive designs and implements exceptional organizational development solutions, project and change management in response to enterprise wide and business critical challenges and opportunities and help build suite of change material and content to enable a strong change management CoE.

The team will provide consultative support, thought partnership and guidance and proactively leverage relationships to identify areas within the business that are faced with organizational health challenges directly related to business objectives. They will introduce metrics to share updates, and use data (qualitative and quantitative) to identify trends that helps to proactively identify organizational effectiveness challenges and opportunities.

This individual will help assess change initiatives across the enterprise to determine how change efforts may overlap with regards to stakeholder groups, advice on communications and engagement and on timing of changes to identify potential critical areas of overlap, change fatigue and project efficiencies. The individual must be able to advise and influence, guide and advise leadership on appropriate efforts and initiatives regarding change, and report related risks with solutions to mitigate to leadership in a timely and efficient manner.

The ideal candidate will have strong expertise and focus within leading change and transformation efforts, ideally having set up a center of excellence and with some experience in finance or insurance services or working in large, complex corporate environments. The candidate should be comfortable managing and leading, driving strong performance and inspiring a team.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in industry required; advanced degree a plus
• 10+ years of experience in human resources, organizational development & effectiveness, consulting, leadership development, I/O psychology or related field with strong, proven change management expertise and leadership
• Established Change Management/Organizational Development practitioner with demonstrated skill and experience working on large scale engagements with significant change elements and delivering behavioral transformation
• Ability to apply industry experience and “next practice change management and organizational development” thinking
• Adept at learning the business, creating internal partnerships, fostering collaboration and recommending strategies that fit the culture and business model
• Competent in diagnosing individual and organizational performance improvement needs, matching intervention methodology with needs, and determining the appropriate development measures
• Proven thought leader who consistently educates themselves and the team on latest thinking and advances in the space, external trends and competitor analysis. Comfortable presenting to senior leadership and leading learning/training sessions, and speaking externally on behalf of NYL
• Comfortable working with ambiguity and change, with a solutions orientated mindset

Primary Responsibilities:
• Supervises execution of activities related to organizational change management and end user readiness
• Designs and facilitates targeted transformative solutions for our most complex organizational development problems; implementing critical structures, such as operating models, organization structures and reporting relationships, etc., that enable the partner and leader mindset and behavior shifts needed to deliver our business strategy and new desired ways of working
• Provides Human Resource leaders with external perspectives to ensure organization is leveraging change management and organizational development best practices and evolves our current change management and organizational development philosophy, framework and toolkit
• Manages resolution of potential organizational obstacles
• Looks across initiative roadmaps to identify areas for potential change fatigue as a result of significant disruption
• Develops and maintains working relationships across the enterprise
• Manages the team to the plan and timeline
• Shapes metrics and practices to measure the ongoing effectiveness of the change management and organizational development interventions

Salary range: $225,000 to $275,000

Overtime eligible: Exempt
