Job Overview

Global Industrial, an industry leader for over 70 years, is seeking an Associate Design Engineer to join our Private Brand Product Development team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing mechanical components, equipment, and machinery. Your expertise will contribute to our ongoing commitment to meet the diverse needs of our customers across North America.

Responsibilities
• Design, develop, and test all aspects of mechanical components, equipment, and machinery.
• Apply knowledge of engineering principles, materials, and production methods to design products and components.
• Fabricate, operate, and install mechanical products as necessary.
• Create product specifications, standards, test reports, safety warnings, assembly instructions, and product manuals.
• Assess competitive products and propose innovative solutions to engineering challenges.
• Collaborate effectively with team members.

Requirements
• Associates or bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a technical degree in related fields.
• 3-5 years of experience applying design and engineering knowledge in industrial products.
• Familiarity with a range of production materials and processes, with emphasis on metals and plastics.
• Proven success in analyzing and executing complex mechanical engineering challenges.
• Self-motivated and able to thrive in a fast-paced, changing environment with cross-functional teams.
• Proficiency in common CAD software packages.
• Knowledge of regulations and standards such as OSHA, ANSI, NEC, NSF, UL/ETL, BIFMA, etc.
